SEATTLE, WA
Field Roast Grain Meat Company has introduced a new player into the vegan cheese category: Chao Slices. President David Lee shared his excitement about the new rich, creamy coconut cheese which draws its name from the fermented soybean curd used to season it.
"Chao cheese is a continuation of our fascination with combining traditional Asian and European foods to create new culinary fusions that are real, instead of fake," he explained.
Rather than attempting to mimic traditional dairy cheese flavors, like cheddar, mozzarella or monterey jack, Field Roast chose to blaze a new path, drawing on inspiration from nature's greens. Flavors like Creamy Original with chao tofu, Tomato Cayenne with spicy peppers, and Coconut Herb with black pepper pair well with Field Roast's Deli Slices and Burgers. The company is confident that they will be a bit hit at the retail aisle.
Having launched on January 1st, 2015, Chao Slices are available for purchase in both retail stores and food service operations.
Congratulations on the launch of this new product, Field Roast Grain Meat Company!
