H-E-B’s Slim Down Showdown


Supermarket chain H-E-B is announcing some new changes to their Slim Down Showdown campaign to help Texans live healthier in 2014, according to the San Antonio Business Journal. The company is now making the programs, recipes, and activities available for free online.

“Each year, our Slim Down Showdown contestants make stunning and dramatic progress and it is amazing to watch how their lives change,” says Kate Rogers, H-E-B vice president for communication and engagement. “But we are not satisfied with helping only a handful of people every year, we want to help millions.”

H-E-B is starting off the New Year with a two-week, in-store Start Fresh Fest which will feature demonstrations of healthy meals that can be prepared in 15 minutes or less.

The Slim Down Showdown is one of several health campaigns of H-E-B.
