Harris Teeter is revealing a new specialty shopping experience. The company is currently renovating two locations into a fresh new concept store called 201central. The concept will offer an extensive variety of wine, beer, specialty foods and other general merchandise items in the approximately 30,000 square foot locations.
The company will be re-defining its approach to grocery with the new concept presenting specialty services that include in-store wine consultants, event coordination and catering. The 201central concept also offers party rentals and educational classes focused on wine, beer and food pairings.
In addition to 3,100 varieties of wine, 680 varieties of beer from around the world, approximately 35 brands of keg beer and local beers, the locations will carry a wide range of product lines that include specialty cheese and olives; artisan breads; bulk foods including coffee, tea, nuts, grains and rice; and other specialty and common favorites of beverages and snack items, including Gluten Free items. The retailer also has an international foods expansion including Asian, Middle Eastern, English, Indian, Italian, Kosher, Mexican and South American products, in the works.
