Healthy Ones and retail partner Jewel-Osco announced a pedaling event for a cause, “Pedal The Plaza.” It will be held outside at Pioneer Court Plaza in downtown Chicago on June 26th and will benefit The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).
"We're planning to make this event a fun and easy way for people to make a healthy change to their day while donating to a cause that so many can relate to at the same time," said Elizabeth Di John, Brand Manager for Healthy Ones. "We have a goal of raising $10,000 to BCRF and we invite anyone in the Chicagoland area to come and 'Pedal The Plaza' with us, enjoy a free lunch on us and Jewel-Osco and make a difference for themselves and others. We want to show that it can be easy to make a healthy change to your day and others, one pedal rotation at a time."
The event is part of the Healthy Ones “You Can” campaign that focuses on empowering consumers to make positive lifestyle and diet changes. It will feature music, celebrities and a high-energy instructor to keep motivation up, according to a press release.
"Health and wellness is a topic near and dear to Jewel-Osco being a grocery retailer. This event is a great way to promote healthy eating, creating awareness that there are everyday items at your neighborhood Jewel-Osco that are both delicious and also health conscious, as well as advocating being active," said Jewel-Osco VP Marketing & Merchandising, Doug Cygan. "We are proud to partner with Healthy Ones to support awareness for BCRF and their efforts, as well as living a healthy lifestyle."
