Lynn Gust has been named President of Kroger's Portland, Oregon based Fred Meyer Stores division. The 59 year old industry veteran has been Senior Vice President of Operations since 2011. Mr. Gust began his career with Fred Meyer as a parcel clerk in 1970 and during his more than 40 years at Fred Meyer, he has served in a variety of leadership roles, including Vice President of the Food Group and Senior Vice President of the Store Operations Group, according to a press release. Mr. Gust took on the role of Executive Vice President of Corporate Merchandising and Advertising in 2006. The one-stop shopping experience has 133 multi-department stores in Alaska, Idaho, Oregon and Washington."Lynn's long history with Fred Meyer and deep knowledge of our business will serve our customers well," said Rodney McMullen, President and Chief Operating Officer of Kroger.
