MADISON, WI
Oscar Mayer has announced the selection of Mark Magnesen as the company’s new President. Magnesen is to transition into the position immediately, according to a Wisconsin State Journal report, as previous President Sam Rovit is expected to leave the company within the next few weeks.
Magnesen comes into this position after having worked at Oscar Mayer’s parent company, Kraft Foods, for almost 25 years, and has served in several vice president roles, including Senior Vice President for North America for Rick Searer, who led Oscar Mayer for 10 years before he was promoted to head Kraft North America. Most recently Magnesen was General Manager for the Planters nuts business.
As President, Magnesen will continue to be based in Madison, where Oscar Mayer is one of the area's largest employers. With 7,000 employees, 1,200 of them in Madison, he represents a company included within Kraft’s “refrigerated meals” division, which had $3.4 billion in revenue in 2014.
