GRAND RAPIDS, MI
Meijer has revealed a lineup for a $50 million facelift to four of its supercenters in Ohio to provide maximum supply for consumer demands.
“Our goal is to provide an exceptional shopping experience for our customers,” Hank Meijer, company Co-Chairman, said in a press release. “Dayton is a community we’ve enjoyed serving for nearly 25 years, since our first stores opened in 1991. We are pleased to renew our commitment to meeting the needs of families in the Dayton area.”
Construction on all four locations begins this month, with extensive remodeling in food selection and floor design, according to the release.

In addition to the expansion of customer selections available, the company’s detailed makeover plans include a 4,400 square foot addition to its store at East Stroop location, including the addition of a drive-through window for a pharmacy and an employee entrance, bringing the store to 204,175 square feet, according to a Dayton Daily News report. Similar plans were submitted to Beavercreek officials as well.
“Our customers expect high standards from us, and our investment in these stores will ensure they enjoy the best shopping experience we can provide,” Meijer said in the release.
Additional improvements include redesigned check-out and self-scan lanes, upgraded heating, refrigeration, and lighting fixtures throughout the stores, and other various additions. A specific start date for this month was not provided, nor did the company say when it estimated construction would be complete.
