In Memoriam: Joe Glorioso
Joe Glorioso, co-founder of Glorioso’s Italian Market, has passed away on October 15th at the age of 91.
More than 60 years ago, Glorioso’s Italian Market began on a $1,000 loan that Joe and his brothers Eddie and Teddy received from their father’s boss. The store was opened to keep the boys busy and out of trouble.
Soon after, the small market kept a loyal following of shoppers who valued imported Italian oil, pasta, cookies, and canned goods, cannoli and bread from nearby Sciortino’s bakery, freshly made sausage and serious cheese, as well as the intimate feel of a neighborhood shop, according to the Journal Sentinel. Joe was said to love the business for the people, and not just the customers. He worked along with his wife at the market for more than 50 years.
DeliMarket TV would like to extend our deepest condolences to Joe's family and friends.
