Michael Warehime, Snyder’s-Lance Chairman of the Board, has passed away at the age of 73.
“Michael was an extraordinary leader whose drive to build a successful company was reflected in his vision and strategy for Snyder’s-Lance,” said Carl Lee, President and CEO. “Out thoughts and prayers are with the Warehime family during this difficult time.”
Michael has worked with Snyder-Lance for more than 40 years, according to the Evening Sun. He was named President and CEO of the Hanover Corporation eight years after joining in 1966. In 2010, he was named Chairman of the Board after leading a successful merger with Lance Inc.
Michael is survived by Tricia A. Warehime, his wife of 36 years, his three children, Kate Mininger and her husband, Jason, of Hanover, Susan Rupp and her husband, Frank, of West Chester, and Elizabeth Warehime of Hanover; four grandchildren, Maggie and Sophie Mininger, and Harrison and Evan Rupp; a sister, Sally Warehime Yelland Ehrhart and her husband, Sidney; a brother, John A. Warehime and his wife, Patty, all of Hanover; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Trinity United Church of Christ, with the Revs. Kenneth S. Heasley, Peg Grzelkowski and Brenda Marin officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity United Church of Christ Endowment Fund, 116 York St., Hanover, PA 17331; or to the Johns Hopkins Hospital Cardiac Unit, 1800 Orleans St., Baltimore, MD 21287. Arrangements are under the care of Panebaker Funeral Home, Hanover.
