Montchevré has won two awards at the 2013 United States Championship Cheese Contest.
The company’s Mini Cabrie was awarded Best in Class with a score of 99.75 in the Surface Ripened Goat’s Milk Cheeses Category.
Montchevré’s goat milk brie has a rind made of a white penicillum mold, often referred to as fleurie.
“The white velvet-like exterior protects a soft oozing and creamy inside that hosts a smooth and delicate taste,” Montchevre said in a statement.
Montchevré’s fresh and clean tasting fresh goat cheese is the perfect base for peppadews, a South African sweet pepper oft described as a cross between a pepper and a tomato.
Their Peppadew goat cheese has a flavorful kick, and was awarded a score of 99.35 and a Third Place Finish in the Flavored Soft Goat's Milk Cheese category.
