Nathan’s Famous now holds the title of Most Selfies Taken Simultaneously in the world.
As we previously reported, the hot dog company set itself the challenge of taking the most selfies simultaneously with a Guiness World Records™ official there to put it in the books.
At Busch Stadium in St. Louis, Missouri, the company successfully took 4,296 selfies, shattering the previous record of 2,997.
"Everyone knows that Nathan's Famous is the originator of fun and today we proved it with 4,296 Cardinals fans by setting the Guinness World Records™ title for Most selfies taken simultaneously,” Mike Paribello, Sr. Director of Marketing of Nathan's Famous, said in a press release. “We can't thank our partners at Schnucks Supermarkets and the St. Louis Cardinals enough for helping us with this awesome achievement.”
Eight-time defending Nathan's Famous National Hot Dog Eating Contest Champion Joey Chestnut was also there to participate in snapping selfies, with the famous Gateway Arch.
"I know I hold the contest record for downing the most hot dogs, and the record for most Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Contest championships, but it was really cool to be a part of a Guinness World Records™ official attempt," Chestnut said, according to the release, adding that he hopes all the fans who jumped on board remembered to upload their selfies in Nathan’s Original Selfie Sweepstakes.
This record attempt was quite the kick off to the contest that began last Monday. The company encourages everyone to snap a selfie to enter, and will continue to name a weekly winner, as well as collect entries for a monthly grand prize winner.
