The annual ACS Conference is the
premier event for cheesemakers, retailers, distributors, importers, exporters, buyers, specialty food producers, and anyone who simply loves great cheese, according to a press release.
This year’s conference features an opening keynote with California’s culinary trailbrazers
Darrell Corti and
Narsai David. There will also be various education and tasting sessions including a look into “Microbiology of Cheese Rinds,” “Effective Communication, Handling, and Traceability for Retailers,” “Beyond the Cheese Plate: Cheese as an Ingredient,” and many more educational sessions.
Some of the other networking opportunities and special events include a
“Meet the Cheesemaker” event, where guests can sample and learn about cheeses directly from producers and the
Festival of Cheese, which showcases more than
1,700 cheeses with samples of wine, craft beer, and gourmet foods.
There will also be an
awards ceremony recognizing the top cheeses and cultured dairy products of 2014.
Guests are also encouraged to attend the
Cheese Sale on August 2nd, which offers the opportunity to purchase artisan cheeses at low prices, with all proceeds benefiting the non-profit American Cheese Education Foundation.
I can’t wait to see it!
