Sara Lee Adds 2 New Flavors to Pound Cake Product Line


CHICAGO, IL

Sara Lee has added Blueberry Pound Cake and Gingerbread Pound Cake to its Sara Lee® Desserts pound cake product line.

“Sara Lee Pound Cake has been a beloved product in kitchens for more than 60 years and is America’s favorite frozen pound cake,” said Jeff Kemerley, Senior Brand Manager, Sara Lee Desserts. “To expand upon our pound cake’s rich heritage, we’re bringing the popular flavors of blueberry and gingerbread to consumers for more ways to indulge with this sweet treat.”

According to a press release, the Blueberry Pound Cake is made with real blueberries and will be available year round.  The Gingerbread Pound Cake is a limited edition flavor made with real ginger and available through December of this year.

“Consumers enjoy our buttery pound cake for breakfast, afternoon snacks and creating unique dessert dishes,” said Kemerley. “Sara Lee Blueberry Pound Cake is bursting with blueberry flavor that tastes great any way it’s served and any time of day. Limited Edition Sara Lee Gingerbread Pound Cake is our twist on the classic holiday flavor and we expect its fresh, homemade taste to be a big hit this fall season.”

Sara Lee Pound Cake products are available at grocery retailers throughout the country.  The suggested retail price for the 10.3-ounce Sara Lee Blueberry Pound Cake and Sara Lee Gingerbread Pound Cake is $3.99.
