U.S. cheese production at the end of 2012 increased according to the National Agricultural Statistics Service.
Total cheese output rose two percent from December of 2011, and 3.8 percent above November 2012 to 949 million pounds.
Cheese production of Italian persuasion fell 0.1 percent below December 2011 but rose 6. 4 percent from November 2012 to a grand total of 409 million pounds.
American type cheese production totaled 378 million pounds, 2.6 percent above December 2011 and 4.2 percent above November 2012.
