It’s a good day to be James N. Sheehan! Last week, Hormel Foods announced that Sheehan has advanced to Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective January 29, 2019. As EVP and CFO, Sheehan oversees Hormel’s accounting, information technology, internal audit, investor relations, corporate tax, and treasury.
Sheehan first joined Hormel Foods’ accounting team in 1978. Over the course of his Hormel career, he held various management and leadership positions in accounting and financing, including President of Hormel Financial Services (1998), Treasurer (1999), Vice President and Controller (2000), Chief Accounting Officer (May 2016), and Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (October 2016).
“With more than forty years of experience, Jim is highly regarded in the industry for his strategic financial leadership and his deep knowledge of the markets, industries, and Hormel Foods businesses,” said Jim Snee, Chairman of the Board, President, and Chief Executive Officer. “He is focused on elevating Hormel Foods financial and technology systems to reflect the changing dynamics in the greater food industry and will be pivotal in accelerating our growth in the future. According to a press release, Sheehan is involved in numerous professional and nonprofit organizations. He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Missouri Western State University and is a graduate of the Minnesota Executive Program at the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.
