Hod Golan and Abeles & Heymann announced the addition of a seasoned executive with more than 40 years of experience in food—including both the supply- and buy-side, with retail experience from Pathmark, Wakefern-Shoprite, and A&P. The companies have tapped Kevin O’Brien as their new Vice President of Sales.
“I am thrilled to bring my strong background in kosher, ethnic, and natural foods to help grow sales for these amazing, high quality Kosher Brands,” said O’Brien, in a press release. “I am confident that my 40-plus years of experience will help lead Hod Golan plus Abeles and Heymann to even greater heights across the U.S.”
According to the two companies’ press release, O’Brien brings more than 40 years’ experience from both supermarket retail and related food business—including expertise in store operations, procurement, merchandising, sales, and marketing. His sales career spans from store management in high volume supermarkets to corporate roles in both ethnic and specialty foods as well as in natural and organic foods.

O’Brien was previously VP of Sales at Manischewitz for over 10 years and was responsible for direct growth and managing of top accounts as well as overseeing the sales, merchandising, consumer affairs, and customer service departments and also fostering positive distributor and retailer relationships. Priorly, O’Brien held a number of managerial positions in retail—with stints at Pathmark, Wakefern-Shoprite, and A&P.
