Hormel Foods Announces Retirement of Jeffrey M. Ettinger; Jim Snee Elected as Chairman


AUSTIN, MN
Wednesday, September 27th, 2017

After over a decade of service as Chairman of the Board, Jeffrey M. Ettinger is retiring from Hormel Foods Corporation. In his wake, the board of directors elected Jim Snee to be the company’s next Chairman of the Board, effective November 20, 2017, adding to Snee’s current responsibilities as Chief Executive Officer and President of Hormel Foods.

Ettinger served on the Hormel Foods Board of Directors since May of 2004 and as Chairman of the Board since November of 2006.

As President and CEO, Hormel said in a press release that Snee has been instrumental in adding to its mission of becoming a broader and more global food company. The company recently announced its entry into South America with the acquisition of the Ceratti® brand, boosting its international roster. This acquisition, along with the Fontanini® and Justin’s® brands, marks the third acquisition under Snee’s leadership.

Snee was appointed CEO on October 31, 2016, after serving as President and COO since October of 2015. Snee’s career with Hormel Foods spans 28 years.
