A new partnership pairing some of the most experienced companies in craft meat and cheese is paying dividends for fans of bratwurst. Schaller & Weber and Plymouth Artisan Cheese debuted their new Cheddar Brat earlier this year, and I caught up with Jesse Denes, Director of Marketing for the former company, to learn more.
“We were looking to do a cheddar brat with a really nice all-natural cheese in it, and we've known Jesse and Sarit for a few years just from doing the food shows together—we've always been super friendly and their products are amazing, and that was kind of our first thought when we wanted to do a really nice cheddar,” Jesse explained. “We got some samples in; we tried it, and it was amazing.”
The new Schaller & Weber Cheddar Brat, produced in conjunction with Plymouth, is available now.
“It's a smoked pork sausage stuffed with the Plymouth Original wax Cheddar Cheese,” Jesse added. “It's one of the Schaller & Weber smoked sausages, so you're getting a great cut of meat, beautiful spice blend, 81 years of sausage making experience. It's the best the East Coast has to offer.”
