Smithfield Foods Announces $1.2 Million Expansion Plans for Kentucky Facility


GRAYSON, KY
Friday, October 5th, 2018

Smithfield Foods, Inc. announced an expansion at its Grayson, Kentucky, facility last Thursday, October 4. The expansion will increase production capacity by 20 percent. To meet its growing operational needs, the company is hiring 40 full-time positions.

“In the last several years, our growth has allowed us to invest in our facilities and create new opportunities for those living in the communities we call home,” said Jeff Salyer, Grayson Plant Manager. “We are proud to invest in Grayson and look forward to welcoming new members of the Smithfield Family at this facility, which helps put holiday hams and other mealtime favorites on millions of tables each year.”

The Grayson facility currently employs more than 570 residents from Kentucky, Ohio, and West Virginia

According to a company press release, available positions include: general production, maintenance, and engineering trainee.
