The Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association (TSCRA) has reported the arrest of a Bonham, Texas man for third degree felony theft of livestock.
Timothy Randall Mayo, 45, of Bonham, Texas, was arrested last Wednesday after writing worthless checks to purchase cattle, according to a TSCRA press release.
Special Ranger Toney Hurley, leader of the investigation, stated that Mayo wrote a worthless check to the Sulphur Springs Livestock and Dairy Auction for cattle purchased in February.
Mayo was taken to the Bonham Police Department and he was transferred to Hopkins County Jail after a magistrates hearing held by Fannin County Justice of the Peace, Royce W. Smithey.
Mayo is now being held on a $40,000 bond for third degree felony theft of livestock charges, with additional charges expected to be filed.
