Western’s Smokehouse has secured a new Safe Quality Food (SQF) Level 2 certification for its processing of meat snacks.
“Achieving SQF certification demonstrates our continued commitment to providing premium quality meat snacks for our partners and customers,” announced Kevin Western, Chief Operating Officer, in a press release.
The certification, given by the SQF Institute under the Global Food Safety Initiative Edition 7.2., is achieved for notable food safety and quality control practices, according to the company.
Those receiving certification undergo a third-party audit by quality inspectors, confirming proper food safety programs. Programs evaluated within each company receiving certification include:
