With this new alliance, Couturier’s brands, including Couturier®, Merci Chef®, and Capra® market segments will be handled by Norseland, as well as logistical responsibilities, brand sales, marketing, and distribution as of November of this year.
“This partnership is a great opportunity for Couturier North America to continue to grow our market share in the U.S. market to become one of the leading brand of goat cheese in the next five years,” Pierre Guerin, President of Couturier LLC, said in the release. “Norseland is the most qualified company when it comes to specialty cheeses. In addition to helping bolster its U.S. goat cheese market, Couturier added that this alliance will help grow its footprint in the state of New York. Already the company’s goat cheese has been produced by Hudson, New York-based Hudson Valley Creamery, LLC, since 2012. The two companies plan to expand to include producing locally-sourced goats milk in the coming months.
With this expansion, as well as the strength of partnering with Norseland, Couturier hopes it will help to create more jobs in New York and Columbia County, plus more opportunities for the New York resurgent dairy industry.
