You may have taken a circuitous path through the Winter Fancy Food show floor last month if you were trying to track down Jana Foods. The importer joined FrieslandCampina and Best Cheese USA as a newly-established family of brands boasting an assortment of products—from Frico brand cheeses from the Netherlands to the first USDA Certified Cheddars from Europe.
There, I spoke with Michael Pollak, Brand Manager for Organic Kingdom, to learn more about the Organic Kingdom line and the way in which the brand is bringing authentic age-old Somerset tradition to a new group of conscientious U.S. shoppers.
“Organic Kingdom was launched last year, and it’s the first USDA Certified Organic Cheddar available in the U.S.,” Michael told me. “The milk that goes into Kingdom cheese comes from small family farms in Somerset—based in the Southwest of England where the cows are grass-fed and free to roam.”
With a fresh, friendly design and convenient 7 oz size, the line is tailored to the needs of American consumers. And with mild, mature, and extra mature offerings, Organic Kingdom has options for the aged Cheddar aficionado and mild-Cheddar-only milquetoasts alike.
