At the recent Summer Fancy Food Show in New York City, we met up with our friend, Pasture Pride’s Mary Bess Michaletz, who gave us all the details on the company’s award-winning Juusto grilling cheese, along with a taste of Farmhouse Kitchen’s Hand Rolled Butter.
“On the table today we have Juusto’s gorgeous warm grilling cheese. It’s from the Finnish tradition, but we make it in Wisconsin and add different flavorings,” Mary Bess tells me. “We’re excited about that product and we took a first place at the U.S. Cheese Championship competition this year on the traditional Juusto.”
Mary Bess also let the team try some of the new Farmhouse Kitchen’s Hand Rolled Butter, and while it was delicious just piled on top of a cracker, the dairy expert gave us a few more ways to enjoy the product.
“It performs beautifully in a sauté pan, it foams up and browns for beautiful brown butter,” says Mary Bess. “Pastries and pie crusts puff beautifully. It’s just a gorgeous, gorgeous product.”
