The Spice Lab has earned NOP Organic Certification from Americert International (formerly known as OIA North America), a USDA accredited certifying agent under the USDA National Organic Program providing organic certification for producers, processors, and handlers.
The USDA Organic seal assures consumers that products are 95% or more certified organic, meaning free of synthetic additives like pesticides, chemical fertilizers, and dyes, and must not be processed using industrial solvents, irradiation, or genetic engineering.
“We are proud to add 'organic certified' to the wide array of spices, salts, and seasonings that we offer our customers,” says Brett Cramer, Co-Founder of The Spice Lab, who started the business with his wife Jennifer in 2009. “As more and more consumers are seeking organic products, we now are positioned to provide retailers with an 'organic' option of our most popular spices, such as turmeric, ginger, and cinnamon.”
According to the Organic Trade Association’s 2018 Organic Industry Survey, organic foods registered sales growth of 6.4% in the United States in 2017, reaching $45.2 billion in sales and accounting for 5.5% of the food sold in retail channels in the United States.
As a woman-owned and family-run business, The Spice Lab takes great pride in offering the widest selection of sea salts from a single source. Its ever expanding line of products include peppercorns, spices, seasonings, rubs, gourmet gift collections, sugars, loose teas, Himalayan salt shot glasses and plates, regional brands, private label, and a wide array of corporate gifts.
