UNITED STATES
Friday, August 11th, 2023

Retail behemoth Amazon is making a move to strengthen its position in the fresh grocery sector. Recently, the company announced that it will be making its Amazon Fresh delivery service available to non-Amazon Prime members throughout a dozen United States cities, including Austin, Texas; Denver, Colorado; Phoenix, Arizona; and Sacramento, California.

According to Markets Insider, shoppers in these 12 cities will now have access to Amazon Fresh delivery from stores and warehouses. For non-Prime members, a delivery fee will be applied based on the order’s value—with more expensive deliveries incurring a smaller fee.

The news source reported that the Vice President of Amazon Fresh, Claire Peters, stated that this expansion is just one of Amazon’s latest efforts to make grocery shopping easier, faster, and more affordable. Prime member or otherwise, the delivery window will continue to be two hours for all shoppers.

This expansion is expected to be complete nationwide by the end of the year, with plans to integrate Whole Foods Market stores in the future.
