Acquisition is the keyword for Atalanta, as the supplier has announced its third deal in the last eight months. The company revealed that it purchased J.A. Kirsch, an importer of canned seafood and specialty shelf-stable products.
“Ruby’s well-established market share and long-standing supplier and customer relationships significantly bolsters Atalanta’s standing as a leader in the food industry,” said Tom Gellert, President of Atalanta, elaborating on the strategic importance of this acquisition.
J.A. Kirsch was established in 1905 and is based in Teaneck, New Jersey, a release explained. The company has built a notable reputation over the years, including in 1950 when it introduced its Ruby brand. Throughout the decades, the Ruby brand has become recognized for producing high-quality, shelf-stable foods sold by foodservice distributors across the United States.
With this acquisition, J.A. Kirsch will continue to operate independently of Atalanta, while the company works on a plan to integrate the organizations. The Ruby brand will be integrated into the supplier’s portfolio in the coming months, building out its collection of proprietary brands and augmenting its market presence.
