Chevoo Creates Cross-Merchandising Opportunities at Retail; Pierre Guérin Details

Think beyond the cheese case. This is my advice to retailers following a recent conversation with Chevoo’s Pierre Guérin, in which the cheese expert highlighted a variety of spring merchandising opportunities extending far beyond the specialty sector.

The brand’s tagline ‘How Do You Chevoo?’ really drives home this point of the brand’s versatility.”

Chevoo’s spreadable cheese lineup is a perfect pairing for a variety of options across the store, presenting opportunities for cross-merchandising to spark impulse purchases.

Some categories welcoming the use of Chevoo include:

  • Salads - Inspire consumers to add goat cheese cubes to their salads, replacing feta or mozzarella
  • Proteins - Chevoo can be spread on grilled meat, poultry, or fish for extra added flavor
  • Pizza and Pasta - Consumers can elevate their family favorites with cubes of Chevoo and a drizzle of olive oil
  • Sides - Shoppers can add more flavor to a variety of sides using Chevoo, including asparagus, Brussels sprouts, or corn on the cob
  • Brunch - The opportunities for brunch are endless, as Chevoo can be spread on bagels or any other bread, as well as paired with avocado toast or eggs
  • Snacking - A cube or two of creamy chèvre spread atop a cracker will satisfy any shopper's hunger pangs

“When it comes to spring merchandising, the team works to cross-promote Chevoo with spring veggies such as asparagus, which are abundant and often on promotion in stores at this time of year,” Pierre adds. “As grilling season starts to heat up (pun intended), we also like to reinforce the idea of smearing Chevoo on burgers or steaks—or any protein, really! So many of the cheesemongers we talk with, and who help promote Chevoo, love the idea of spreading it on corn on the cob; it’s very much like Mexican street corn. Adding Chevoo’s Urfa Chili & Lemon on corn adds such a lovely pop of flavor, and let’s admit it, it’s better for you than using butter!”

With spring gatherings and outdoor events taking place, retailers can cater to the already increasing demand by creating robust merchandising destinations that spotlight Chevoo’s versatility.
