Breast Cancer Awareness Month has neared its end, and we here at DMN are reflecting on all that brands have done to think pink during the month of October. Among these is Companion Baking, which implemented various efforts to raise funds and awareness for the cause.
“With Companion being a company comprised of majority female employees, we are very much aware of the realities surrounding breast cancer,” Donna Wolfersberger, Marketing Director for Companion Baking, shared exclusively with DMN. “By helping raise awareness and money to fund breast cancer research, we know the impact that it can have on companions and in our community.”
As a press release detailed, Companion Baking has been supporting Susan G. Komen Missouri and the Pink Ribbon Good organizations through activations, promos at participating grocery stores, and financial donations.
In partnership with Schnuck Markets, Companion offered 2x reward points to any shopper purchasing one of 14 Companion products during the month of October. Dedicated pink signage and tabs were featured in all stores highlighting the participating brands.
At Dierbergs, the bakery brand donated 50 cents when the breads were purchased during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. As the release noted, all proceeds from the Dierbergs promo went toward the Susan G. Komen “25 Years of Impact” event on October 19.
Last but not least, Companion has made a $1,000 donation to the Pink Ribbon Good organization, which also funds programs for breast cancer patients.
We applaud Companion Baking for its numerous efforts to support such a vital cause!
