The foodservice sector was recently blessed with Atalanta’s new Swiss, Havarti, and Gouda slices. Lucky for consumer simpleton’s like myself, a little birdy (Atalanta’s Marketing Coordinator Cristina Lombardi) told me that the three new slices are now being introduced at the retail level. In an exclusive conversation with Cristina and Vince Staiger, Director of Business Development, I learned how retailers can take advantage of the new products to drive sales.
“Ammerlander and Atalanta are launching three new 7-oz sliced cheeses: Swiss, Havarti, and Gouda,” said Vince. “These cheeses are made in the largest Dairy in Germany and adhere to the highest quality standards while appealing to consumers by offering aggressive pricing and strong promotional opportunities. Atalanta and Ammerlander recently launched the same sliced cheese varieties to the foodservice sector with great success. We anticipate similar sales results with our retailer partners.”
The company suggests that retailers adapt a hanging peg hole display for the cheeses, and that they be stored between 32 and 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Packages for the new cheeses feature a crisp, rustic design that is sure to catch eyes. The points of differentiation for these cheeses include that they are imported from Germany, GMO free, rBST free, and all natural.
All three cheeses will be offered in a 7-oz package with ten slices each. With a shelf life of six months, these products are sure to generate significant revenue in your cheese department. For more specialty products emerging in the market, keep reading Deli Market News.
