They say one is the loneliest number, so why not two new leadership promotions? The Fresh Market is strengthening its executive team, recently promoting Wade Yenny to Vice President, Center Store, and Peter Mayes to Group Vice President, Merchandising.
Previously, Yenny served as Director of Grocery Merchandising. As he enters this new VP position, he will oversee Grocery, Dairy, and Frozen Foods as well as take on Space Planning and Bulk, Candy, and Coffee. With such a wide-ranging role, he is poised to work closely with multiple departments on cross-merchandising promotions across the store.
Joining the promotional streak is Peter Mayes.
Mayes is now taking on the role of Group Vice President, Merchandising. Previously, Mayes served as Meat and Seafood Director, according to a company press release. In his new role, he will continue to oversee the Meat and Seafood department, as well as take on new functions and direct reports from Supply Chain, Visual Merchandising, and the company’s Pricing Team.
The Fresh Market noted in its release that these promotions are expected to help ensure the company’s continued growth and future success.
Dan Portnoy, Chief Merchandising Officer, commented on these two well-deserved VP promotions.
“These promotions are a recognition of the hard work and significant contributions team members have made to The Fresh Market,” said Portnoy, reflecting on the dedicated services provided by both of these executives. “We look forward to their continued contributions in the years to come.”
We are excited to see what these two executives accomplish in their new roles!
