Consumers are on the hunt for high-quality and natural brands. Greenridge Naturals delivers on both. The specialty meat supplier has wielded several different strategies to set itself apart, and I recently got the inside scoop from Claire Flannery, Director of Communications.

Claire Flannery, Director of Communications, Greenridge NaturalsOur focus is on clean, simple meats, using premium ingredients and unique spice blends made in-house by our team of recipe developers,” she began telling me. “We source our meats from throughout the Midwest and have a unique production facility of machinery that is entirely sourced from Europe. Our plant team uses state-of-the-art techniques to hand-trim, season, and hardwood smoke our meats to create our signature taste. We are constantly researching and testing new methods of production as we expand our portfolio.”

While the company currently offers over 100 products, its core items are all-natural snack sticks, deli meats, and sausages.

Greenridge Naturals is launching its 1 oz snack sticks in C-stores and grocery retailers this spring—available in four flavors

“Our most popular items are our All-Natural Beef Snack Sticks—Original Beef and our Jalapeño & Cheddar are top sellers across the country— as well as our All-Natural Tacchino Arrosto Turkey Breast, Caminito Oven Roasted Ham off the Bone, Smoked Polish Sausage, and Black Forest Sausages. We recently introduced a Smoked Polish Rope Sausage in select Sam's Club across the Midwest as well,” Claire continued.

Greenridge Naturals is a family-owned brand, and that is demonstrated by the personal relationships it cultivates through close-knit relationships with its suppliers, particularly those in Europe. The company has strong and longstanding ties in Poland, Germany, and Italy, where many of its spices are sourced.

“We create our signature spice blends in-house from our imports—a unique differentiator from United States companies. We are committed to our small-batch approach, from seasoning to smoking techniques,” Claire explained. “We also source the highest quality products so we can continue to bring clean-label meats to consumers;this means using grass-fed beef and antibiotic-free chicken wherever possible, with no MSG, soy, gluten, and no added fillers or artificial flavors or colors.”

The company is launching its 1 oz snack sticks in C-stores and grocery retailers this spring—available in four flavors—as well as all-natural deli meats in a pre-sliced format. Claire revealed that its production facilities are currently under construction, where new capabilities will be added for drying meats to extend shelf-life and grow the product portfolio to meet more grab-and-go and convenience demands.

“We are also excited to showcase our vast product offerings, including our convenient snack sticks and pre-sliced deli meats, at several shows including the National Restaurant Association Show, Summer Fancy Food Show, National Association of Convenience Stores Conference, and the International Dairy Deli Bakery Association show,” Claire concluded.

With such strong value propositions, it is little wonder why Greenridge Naturals continues to cement its foothold in the specialty meat space. For more on the growing company, stick with us at Deli Market News.
