Grupo Bimbo is getting its innovation gears churning—and just in time for the Natural Products Expo West in Anaheim, California. In addition to showcasing a few favorites and new additions from its most iconic lines, the bakery giant also announced an expansion to its foodservice line, according to a report by BritishBAKER. The new gluten-free products are part of Grupo Bimbo’s New York Bakery Co. brand and include a Plain and Seeded (with sesame, brown linseed, and poppy) bagel.
“Gluten-free is still one of the fastest growing trends, increasing by over 140 percent in the last five years. Whether it’s a dietary need or dietary choice, eating gluten-free shouldn’t mean consumers have to compromise on quality or taste,” said Becky Allen, Marketing Manager for New York Bakery Co, to the news source. “That’s why we’ve developed a gluten-free bagel that replicates the brand’s authentic flavor and chew, allowing operators to enhance consumer experience. These recipes are inspired by New York’s deli and have been trialed with coeliacs and gluten-free lifestylers to ensure they deliver on flavor and texture—giving us every confidence that they will perform well in a category that continues to go from strength to strength.”
Meanwhile, at booth H234 over at Expo West, Grupo Bimbo will be collaborating with chefs who will be sampling consumer-favorite products from Oroweat® Organic, Arnold® Organic, Brownberry® Organic, The Rustik Oven™ and Sanissimo®. According to a press release, the preceding brands will also be debuting new items:
