IDDBA 2022 is on! The International Dairy Deli Bakery Association is heading to Atlanta, Georgia, June 5 through 7 for a return to the trade show floor. The anticipation has been building, and I had the chance to connect with Whitney Atkins, Vice President of Marketing, to hear what awaits attendees.
“IDDBA 2022 is going to open the doors to showcase how the industry goes forward,” she began. “After the last two years, the industry is reimagining everything from new products, trends, technology, and of course, business partnerships. Our association has a reputation for building and supporting strong business partnerships and friendships, and that’s why we want to see everybody back in person in 2022.”
According to Whitney, the events at IDDBA 2022 will be bigger than ever. Not only that, but the association will be bringing some new event features to the trade show floor.
“We’re going to introduce a legacy of leadership recognition where we will talk about our past and our history, and highlight some former Presidents and supporters of the association,” Whitney said. “Also, for our Champions of Change Award, the event will be bigger this year because we’ll be honoring three classes. We’re going to promote those who received the awards in 2020, 2021, and by that time, 2022.”
Attendees of IDDBA will be engaged in discussions on how to use technology to support growth of the dairy, deli, and bakery segments during the popular What’s in Store Live segment. Additionally, the event will feature a product showcase, which the association is looking to expand and usually displays thousands of items. The show is also hosting an impressive lineup of speakers.
“The event will feature Kindra Hall, speaking about storytelling and strategy; Jon Dorenbos, who has a segment on Life is Magic; Dennis Snow with the Secrets of Success; Mel Robbins on career and life advice; and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. on Life in the Fast Lane. And we have even more leaders we hope to add to the lineup,” Whitney told me.
Whitney also explained that the show gives suppliers an opportunity to introduce their business and products to the industry. For buyers, it allows them to not only see the products, but taste them firsthand and get a sense of what is on the horizon. These interactions help both sides of the supply chain sustain and grow their businesses in the future years and remain very competitive. Of course, IDDBA’s benefits extend long past the trade show floor.
“Our members receive year-long benefits from educational industry-relevant webinars to community forums and training opportunities,” concluded Whitney. “And of course, we just launched our Integrated Fresh Data tool in partnership with IRI, which enables our members to digest a diverse range of usable data.”
