The Flavor Forecast is an annual report on the latest culinary trends shaping consumer spending habits, compiled by a collaborative team of nearly four dozen global chefs, culinary professionals, trend trackers, food technologists, and McCormick team members from around the world.

Tapping into such trends, McCormick is bringing its report to life with its first-ever official Flavor of the Year. According to a press release, Vietnamese x Cajun Style Seasoning is a bright, complex reflection of the innovations in food and flavor taking place on a global level. Crafted to complement each Flavor Forecast trend identified for 2023, the seasoning features cayenne and paprika in classic Cajun tradition and lemongrass, garlic, and black peppercorn, customary in Vietnamese recipes.
Consumers will get the chance to try out this inventive Flavor of the Year through a limited-time foodservice partnership with national restaurant chain, Smashburger. In addition, the company will be venturing into the metaverse to launch its new "House of Flavor by McCormick" on December 13.
