Mifroma's Isabelle Schilt Discusses Easter Merchandising

SWITZERLAND
Friday, March 21st, 2025

Mifroma offers some mouthwatering cheeses that are sure to draw attention to the specialty department as we approach Easter next month. Isabelle Schilt, Marketing Manager, took a moment to share what we can expect from the company.

Isabelle Schilt, Marketing Manager, Mifroma“Mifroma suggests merchandising an assortment of Switzerland cheeses together, covering the staple items like Gruyère AOP, Emmentaler AOP, Raclette, and Fondue, and adding in specialty items like Tête de Moine Rosettes, Alpenhorn, Blumenkäse, or Brigand du Jorat,” Isabelle told me. “This shows the range and differentiation there is among cheese from Switzerland. Tying in any type of POS or storytelling helps consumers understand the difference between the cheeses and the best ways to use them.”

For Easter, Mifroma will be highlighting the following cheeses:

  • Blumenkäse: Produced in the Rhine valley, this alpine cheese is coated in 12+ herbs and flowers. Colorful herbs and flowers embody spring and make for a stunning display on an Easter cheese board
    - Available in 1/15lb wheels, 1/3.75lb quarter wheels, and 8/6oz portions
  • Tête de Moine AOP Rosettes: Robust cheese is shaved into delicate cheese flowers, allowing the cheese’s unique aromas to fully bloom. It symbolizes the new growth during the spring season and can be used in place of edible flowers
    - Available in 7/3.35oz and 10/10.58oz retail packs
  • Alpenhorn: Produced in the Appenzell region using milk from Brown Swiss cows who proudly maintain and display their horns. The addition of cream and the variety of alpine herbs on which the cow’s graze, impart a tastes that mimics the lusciousness of the land
    - Available in 1/15lb wheels and 1/3.75lb quarter wheels
  • Brigand du Jorat: A semi-hard, raw milk cheese produced in a small dairy located in Saint-Cierges (Vaud) Switzerland, the cheese wheels feature a fir tree design on the rind and are washed by hand with Raisinée, a syrup made from local apples and pears, giving the wheels their deep coloring
    - Available in 1/13lb wheels

“Le Brigand du Jorat is named after the famous thieves who once populated the forests of the Jorat region and who now vow to protect and sustain a healthy forest,” Isabelle shared. Since Easter lands just before Arbor Day, the company will be focusing on both holidays. “Mifroma has committed to expanding the efforts of the Brigand du Jorat through a partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation, promising to plant at least 3,300 trees in forests throughout the United States.”
