Publix has its sights set on expansion, and its next field of growth is in Florida. For 2023, Publix is planning on expanding in its home state with a few new stores, starting in Tampa and Santa Rosa County, Florida.
“As a whole, we look for opportunities to best serve our customers and, in some cases, alleviate congestion in stores, in addition to allowing for the best traffic patterns in a particular area,” commented Lindsey Willis, Publix Media Relations Manager.
On March 2, Publix opened its store at Gandy Shopping Center in Tampa. According to the Miami Herald, the store will sit at 60,000 square feet. The grocer also unveiled plans for its new Santa Rosa County, a 48,000-square-foot location that opened on March 8.
Both of these expansions come shortly after the chain opened another new 48,000-square-foot location on February 23.
