As California-born, I like to think of myself as more than a novice when it comes to queso dips and nacho options. While delicious, this is a snack often in the guilty pleasure category—until the latest launch of Organic cheese dips from Rumiano Cheese Company hits the shelves.
“First-of-a-kind products are an aspect we work diligently toward and that’s what we want to do with our new Organic Queso and Three Cheese Dip,” Joe Baird, Chief Executive Officer, shared with me. “We want to expand the category and create feel-good interest, our focus is to further reach all adjacent categories with what we know we excel in.”
Not only is Rumiano’s Organic Queso a first for the market, it offers five grams of protein while maximizing the precious commodity that is organic milk.
In short, it tastes great, and consumers can feel great dipping in. But even further, Joe promises it is just the beginning. While this may be Rumiano’s first category off the cheese wall, much is already in the works to ensure it is actually the first wave.
“We already have keen interest from a number of like-minded retailers, and we are expanding as we speak to grow our organic cheese process and be able to produce everything in-house,” Joe said, heralding a big future as he shared that this was just the beginning. “Disrupting the snack market next is what is in our sights. We are a vertically integrated player that can make true change.”
True change is something Rumiano is no stranger to, having been ahead of the curve on relationship building and high-quality sourcing since its inception. The company doesn’t just have a network of farmers, it is intimately connected with those who ensure local, organic milk. With such value imbued into all it provides, Joe explained that collaboration and innovation are foundational to everything Rumiano does.
“For us, the difference is source. We have an intimate relationship with our farmers who align with our views on the importance of value. California is a state of innovation, and we are proud to represent that in all we do,” Joe said.
With production lines in construction, sights on distribution and value being added to the supply chain Eastward from its California roots, and several irons in the fire, Rumiano is in a dynamic position of change catalyzed by delicious Queso and a three cheese dip.
