Save Mart Appoints Chris Hooks as Chief Merchandising and Marketing Officer; Shane Sampson Shares

Word of a new Chief is making its way across the retail sector. Tapping into over 25 years of expertise across grocery retail, CPG, and more, Save Mart Companies has announced Chris Hooks as its new Chief Merchandising and Marketing Officer.

Chris Hooks, Chief Merchandising and Marketing Officer, The Save Mart CompaniesHooks will use his nearly three decades of industry experience to enhance the retailer’s executive leadership and growth and innovation goals. Previously, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Merchandising Officer at Save A Lot; Senior Vice President of Consumable Merchandising at Family Dollar; and EVP for Center Store, Fresh, Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Brand Development at Topco Associates.

According to a release, Hooks also spent 11 years at H-E-B in merchandising, marketing, and store operations.

With more than 25 years of experience in grocery retail, CPG, and more, Chris Hooks will be joining Save Mart Companies’ C-suite

Shane Sampson, Executive Chairman of the Board, commented on the strategic leadership appointment.
