Our Monday here at Deli Market News is starting off with a bang as news of an acquisition has made its way across our desks. Savencia Fromage & Dairy has announced it will be acquiring Hope, a Colorado-based hummus and plant-based dip company. The deal will include the Hope Foods plant in Louisville, Colorado, where the brand's hummus and nut dips are made.

Jean-Paul Torris, Chief Executive Officer, Savencia Fromage & Dairy"Our core business remains cheese and dairy products, but we want to develop new offers in the plant-based category with taste differentiation and premium brands. Hope is a strategic fit for us to drive growth in premium natural food products," said Jean-Paul Torris, Chief Executive Officer for Savencia Fromage & Dairy. "Hope enlarges our brands portfolio in the USA into fast-growing, better-for-you products and provides an excellent opportunity to expand consumer options for great-tasting, plant-based products."

Hope Foods was established in Boulder, Colorado, more than a decade ago, first selling its hand-crafted hummus at the local Farmer's Market, according to a release. Today, Hope Hummus is one of the top selling organic hummuses in the U.S., with the company evolving to use state-of-the-art technology to maintain freshness, peak flavor, and nutritional benefits across its portfolio.
