Foodservice distributor Sysco Corporation is solidifying its presence globally with the appointment of Paulo Peereboom. Sysco recently named Peereboom to the role of Executive Vice President and President, Foodservice Operations – International, effective August 8, 2022.
Peereboom joins the distributor with more than 30 years of experience and has held leadership positions in seven countries, a release stated. Previously, Peereboom was the Chief Executive Officer of Makro NL, the Netherlands arm of Metro AG. He has also held executive roles at South African retailer Pick N Pay as well as Ahold Delhaize.
In his new EVP and President role, Peereboom will lead Sysco’s international operations in Canada, Europe, the Bahamas, and Latin America in addition to its export business, International Food Group. He will also oversee the development and execution of key growth strategies in these important markets.
Peereboom will be based out of London, England, and will report to Kevin Hourican, President and Chief Executive Officer.
