Wakefern Food Corp is continuing to rebrand its Price Rite Marketplace banner as the retail market heats up. Rebrands thus far have included store locations in Connecticut, Maryland, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania—and now, more in Massachusetts.
“Our customers have embraced the marketplace feel, focus on fresh foods, and amazing deals at our rebranded stores,” said Jim Dorey, President. “We are excited to bring this streamlined shopping experience to our shoppers in Chicopee, Pittsfield, Springfield, West Springfield, and Westfield.”
This new round of rebrands is honing in on offering the Massachusetts market a fresh new look and shopping experience by re-opening stores in the above-mentioned cities. These Massachusetts stores will feature bright, revitalized décor, including enhanced market-style departments. Each store will also include the new ‘Drop Zone’ stocked with special surprise buys on must-have grocery and private label items, and lower prices that extend across hundreds of products.
Price Rite first kicked off its rebranding campaign in fall 2018 with three stores in Pennsylvania, followed by an aggressive 2019 rollout with 35 additional rebrands in Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, and Maryland. The changes attracted new customers, generated industry buzz, and even secured a National Grocers Association Creative Choice Award for outstanding marketing and merchandising in the supermarket industry. A press release noted that these rebranded stores focus primarily on deep discounts and fresh foods.
Price Rite will finish rebranding additional stores in Massachusetts, New York, and Rhode Island in early 2020. Deli Market News will continue to follow along with the latest.
