A leader with more than four decades of experience is joining the Wakefern Food Corp. executive team in the form of Darren Caudill. The cooperative announced that he has been named as its new Chief Sales Officer and will use his expertise to drive company growth.
As Wakefern’s new Chief Sales Officer, Caudill will head up the center store, own brands, and fresh and prepared foods departments along with digital and innovation, marketing, merchandising, and sales and analytics divisions, a release explained. His previous expertise comes from working in both the grocery wholesale and retail sectors.
Caudill comes to Wakefern after spending the last decade at Cub Foods, Supervalu, and United Natural Foods, Inc., where he most recently served as Senior Vice President of Merchandising, Marketing, and Sales. His experience gives him broad oversight of sales, strategic planning, pricing, marketing strategy, and procurement in both the fresh and center store areas.
He started his retail career at The Kroger Company, where his experience would lead him from a store manager’s position through roles including category manager, merchandiser in the grocery and meat divisions, pricing strategy, and loyalty marketing.
