Iberia Foods Corporation is acquiring the assets of Chicago-based Marcas Food Distributors, a Hispanic and European food distributor. This strategic move is a key initial effort towards long-term national expansion. The new company, Iberia Food Company of the Midwest, will be a base for growth in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Indiana. The new location will be the seventh distribution hub for the Hispanic, Caribbean, and other Specialty Food and Beverage manufacturer and distributor. Pedro Casais, Iberia Foods VP of Corporate Sales, says, “We pinpointed the void and realized that the Midwest region was thirsty for a more diverse portfolio of Hispanic and Caribbean products.
