Safeway’s Exclusive Dairy, Lucerne, has presented Kayla A. of Phoenix, Arizona with $30,000 for winning the grand prize in the eighth annual The Art of Dairy Contest. The high school senior at Northwest Christian School, receives $20,000 for her school's art department, plus $5,000 for herself and $5,000 for her art teacher. The contest provides high school students the opportunity to make their artwork "legenDairy" on an unconventional canvas – a life-sized fiberglass cow. Since the inception of the Art of Dairy™ contest in 2005, Safeway has contributed over $373,000 to schools, teachers, and students. This year, over 6,500 entries were received from schools across the country. Boar’s Head Brand is touting the versatility of its cornerstone product –ham. Not only a staple for festive occasions, ham is a standout addition at summer cookouts, picnics, and parties, the company affirms. Boars head is now offering an array of summer recipes on its website. Director of Communications, RuthAnn LaMore, said, “Ham is the product that started it all for Boar’s Head. We were founded on the belief that consumers deserved a better quality ham than what was available. We hope it’s delicious and nostalgic taste will help families create new memories at holidays and celebrations year-round.”
