Mezzetta Specialty Foods is please to announce that chef Sam Talbot has won the third annual “Make That Sandwich” Celebrity Chef Sandwich Charity Challenge. In honor of Chef Talbot’s win, Mezzetta plans to donate $10,000 dollars to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. His sandwich, the Pickled Broccoli and Pepper Panini on Whole Grain Toast, is Chef Talbot’s contribution to healthy eating choices. He states, “I’ve been living with type 1 diabetes for most of my life, so supporting the JDRF…is very important to me. Thanks to Mezzetta, I am able to support this charity that is so close to my heart… “ Daniele Foods is developing a local New England line of finely cured Italian meats. Daniele Foods is known for its Del Duca Prosciutto, salami, pancetta, and capocollo and is excited for the new line’s launch. The line was crafted using the skills of chefs in the region and is expected to launch this winter as the items complete the curing process. The local line will be available at select delis and farmers’ markets for chefs to use at their restaurants. Customers can view recipes that incorporate the new products on Daniele Foods’ website.
