Deli Market News Reviews the Burger King Nightmare Burger

The Burger King Nightmare Burger has started a bit of a legend recently with the mention of the nightmares said to come from eating the burger. The high levels of protein and the cheese are said to be the triggers that make this fact, but how is the burger? The team at Deli Market News gave it a try, and here is how it stacked up.

Deli Market News' own Dominic Olivias reviewed the Nightmare Burger; no nightmares were had

Like in previous years, we decided to try out Burger King’s new creation, and this time they came up with a green burger named The Nightmare King. Inside of the green buns are three servings of meats—a grilled beef patty and crispy chicken topped with bacon strips. Then we have some mayonnaise, American cheese, and onions. Just listing the meats was enough to make you realize this is really going to be filling. My very first bite immediately made me think “this is a lot of protein,” with the crispy chicken dominating the flavor of the burger.

With each passing bite, this became the norm; the crispy chicken dominated most of the flavor of the burger, with hints of cheese, mayonnaise, and bacon coming in every so often. The thing missing the most was the grilled beef patty. No matter how many bites I took, all the way to the end, I wasn’t able to taste it. The crispy chicken took over on the flavor profile, but it wasn’t all bad. If you don’t like Burger King’s crispy chicken, I’d stay away, but if you don’t mind it, this burger is for you. Even though it is overpowering, you still get an interesting mix of flavor with the bacon or cheese with crisp chicken every so often. Even though it was by far the strongest flavor in the burger, I still give it a passing grade. If you don’t mind the intimidating amount of protein packed in this burger, give it a try.

Normally that would be the end of it, but in this case, we also have the whole part of the burger allegedly giving people nightmares. I unfortunately did not have a nightmare the first night after eating the burger, but I do recall having some sort of dream. It was vague, so maybe it had some kind of effect on me, just not enough to give me a full nightmare. I’m still ruling it as inconclusive. It was only 3.5-fold increase of a chance, so maybe when you try one, you’ll end up having a nightmare served up by the Nightmare King.
