Dickey's Barbecue Pit fans are about to get a whole slew of new menu items, the company’s announced. Look forward to the arrival of Asiago Creamed Spinach, the all-new Blondie Brownie and Chocolate Chunk Cookie, and a new take on a Dickey's classic—Southern Pecan Pie.
"It's important to take feedback from our guests and Owner/Operators and make menu additions and tweaks as needed, so we are pleased to roll out delicious, new quality menu items that pair perfectly with our authentic Texas-style barbecue," said Roland Dickey, Jr., CEO of Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. in a press release.
Dickey’s newest home-style side, is a perfect complement to the restaurant’s slow-smoked Texas-style barbecue, it says—a delicious creamy blend of asiago cheese and spinach. Reportedly the recipe was the result of months of perfecting by the Dickey's R&D Team, and included a period of in-store testing.
The Dickey's signature dessert menu is also getting a revamp, the company says. The Blondie Brownie, a blend of roasted pecans and semi-sweet chocolate chips in a buttery cookie base, and the Chocolate Chunk Cookie have both exceeded expectations in product tests and have been getting positive guest feedback, making them obvious choices for the new menu.
Dickey’s is also excited to introduce its new pecan pie, the company says, describing it as a crisp and buttery pastry with a rich, sweet, dense, and chewy filling that’s loaded with toasted pecans.
"Our guests didn't want a huge slice of pie, they wanted a smaller dessert to satisfy their sweet craving that's very high quality but at a lower price point, so this is exactly what we created," explained Tamala Fowler, Vice President of Purchasing and R&D.
