McDonald’s patrons were sent into a fervor last week after McDonald’s locations throughout the UK experienced an unannounced and almost-unthinkable issue: McDonald’s had run out of bacon.
@McDonalds have ran out of bacon, I repeat McDonalds have ran out of bacon. This is not a drill. All hands to battle stations!

According to a report by The Independent, a nationwide supply issue sent the company’s breakfast customers into rage the morning of December 1st, and those customers took to Twitter to voice their ire.
“‘National shortage of bacon’…did I wake up into a nightmare or something?!?!?!” tweeted one disgruntled customer. And another puzzled: “I was told at the order desk that you didn't have any bacon in any McDonald's in the UK today...? Seriously??”

McDonald’s reportedly issued an apology for the lack of bacon, characterizing the issue as a “short-term issue with the supply of bacon.” And the company’s social media team has been hard at work assuring angry patrons that they are on top of the situation.
How long will “Maccies” locations in the UK be without bacon? Only time will tell. Stay tuned to Deli Market News for all things dairy, deli, and bakery.
