Albertsons Partners with Instacart to Launch Same-Day Delivery in All 1,800 Stores

Albertsons Companies has announced that it is partnering with Instacart to offer same-day delivery options from the retailer’s more than 1,800 stores.

When the two companies’ platform is fully developed, Albertsons noted in its press release, Instacart customers will be able to choose from Albertsons Companies banner stores across key market areas, for a speedy, convenient grocery delivery option. The release went on to note that this most recent partnership is intended to further Albertson’s mission—to reinvent the way consumers discover, purchase, receive and experience food.

Instacart and TargetAlbertsons also noted its continuing commitment to innovation and meeting the changing needs of consumers. Earlier this year, Albertsons Companies began rolling out same day delivery and Drive-up & Go and acquired meal kit company Plated. In addition to its new Instacart services, Albertsons will continue to operate its existing home delivery network and digital programs. Under the terms of their agreement, Instacart delivery services are expected to be available in more than 1,800 Albertsons stores by mid-2018.
